Border Movie Review:

J. P. Dutta's dream project ' Border' is one of the best film of 1990s, which won several awards including National Film Award and is an all-time blockbuster movie of Indian cinema. Based on the battle of Longewala (Indo-Pakistani war of 1971), the movie states the strong anti-war message showing the bad impacts of war and sufferings of the soldiers and their families.

In between the movie, there is good narration of the personal dramas and how it has affected their life. The movie has a lot of emotions, strong dialogues, good screenplay & performances. The songs of the movie are among the most loved songs of 1990s Bollywood songs.

The movie is all about the war of Longewala, in the year 1971 in which a small battalion of Indian soldiers, posted in Longewala region in Punjab is fighting a pivotal battle with over 2000 Pakistani soldiers who are well equipped with war tanks and arms.

It's a multi starer film, with star cast of Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry and Kulbhushan Kharbanda also Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee. Every actor had a power pack performance.  Starting from Sunny Deol, who has perfectly played as Sardarji army man. His role was seen more intense than his other movies and it is definitely his greatest performance that will be remembered by viewers.

One of the song 'Sandese Aate Hai' became very popular Hindi song. Apart from this "Jaaten hue Lamhon" depicted beautifully how the world of soldiers is and they need to leave their families to safeguard the country from the enemies. The other song Mere Dushman Mere Bhai lyrics are marvellous and the voice behind is Hariharan. It carries a message to condemn war and portrays its devastating effects.
