Get Out

Get Out is a horror film, a thriller, directed by Jordan Peele, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams, released on May 18, 2017. It has got positive comments from the reviewers, hyper-excitable comments of the hyper-excitable Americans on Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB etc. Having clarified the concept, Get Out is not racist, let alone against racism. 

The anti-racist aura that the American critics have superficially painted on him has earned the film by Jordan Peele, an American actor in his first directorial work, with an outspoken praise and grossing over $ 100,000,000 in the US alone, against a budget only 5 million. Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a young African American photographer and artist from New York, agrees to meet the parents of his white girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams), during a weekend out of town on their family estate. 

The parents of the girl Missy and Dean (Catherine Keener and Bradley Whitford) and the younger brother Jeremy (Caleb Landry Jones) immediately proved to be kind and accommodating, perhaps to hide the embarrassment generated by her daughter's interracial relationship. 

Apart from that there are some events and discoveries more and more disturbing, the enigmatic behaviour of African-American servants, the servicewoman Georgina (Betty Gabriel) and the gardener of the property Walter (Marcus Henderson), and later the discovery of the disappearances of some black boys occurred in the area, they only increase the suspicion of Chris that nothing in this house looks like that lead him to a truth he could have ever imagined. 

As if this were not enough, his only possible ally, his friend Rod (Lil Rel Howery) is very far away. Preceded by a resounding success with critics and audiences, this surprising first low-budget feature produced by the praiseworthy Blumhouse is one of the most entertaining and successful thrillers-horror films of the decade.

 Escape - Get Out is in fact full of tension and irony, able to subvert the expectations and bring to mind the passionate. Racism, clichés and appearances are happily made in small pieces by the intelligence of the author. More than in other cases, it is better not to read anything before seeing it to enjoy it as it deserves.
