Star Wars is not new as almost it has been more than 40 years since it has been portrayed in movies, some of them have been already released while some are rolling in and many more will be coming in near future. It has really amazed people with its action, but there are some facts related to it that are even more amazing and still not known to people. 1. Yoda was almost played by a monkey
Earlier, Yoda was created with the help of animations and puppetry. But then the plan was to hire a real actor for playing the said role. The makers of Star Wars said that they planned to dress the original monkey in Yoda costume and mask. However it has been confirmed as there were photos where monkeys can be seen trained and the oddly hideous Yoda mask prototype.
Even a previous crew member who worked on 2001 said that apes who were seen in the opening of the movie were some sort of problem some and that was enough to fire them up from the movie. Even the book on The Making of Star Wars by J.W. Rinzler, George Lucas at first planned for Yoda to be done by adorable monkey which would be carrying a cane and wearing a mask.
2. The lightsaber noise is from the familiar hum of an old television
It’s the combination of hum of an old television's picture tube and the buzz of a film projector's motor.
3. With the first Star Wars it was an actual war that came
Perfect setting was found by Lucas for creation of barren desert planet of Tatooine, but he didn't realize that even a little movie production could lead to socio-political tensions. Tunisia and Libya share a common border and the result was that the Tunisian government was receiving threats from Gaddafi and warning that it may lead to conflict if the military vehicle from the Libyan border is not removed.

The fact is known when it has mentioned by Prowse on his website, which was then dropped down stating that he has been debarred from attending all "Lucas film associated events". When explanation for the same was asked by Prowse, he mentioned that he has burnt too many bridges between Lucasfilm and him.
8. The TIE fighter engine’s sound is of elephant
TIE Fighter engine are used in many of the movies of the star wars and can you think the sound of such engines are not of them. Yes, it was created by together with an elephant bellow and a car driving on wet pavement.
9. Liam Neeson was different because of his height for Star Wars
The set that was prepared for The Phantom Menace was such that it could go easy with the other actors, but when it was Liam Neeson, the same did not worked for him as he is the only actor with a height of 6'4" and was comparatively taller than the other actors. The makers have to rebuild all the door frames that resulted in additional cost of production.

In the prequels, computer animation was used to create legions of Clone Troopers. Physical suit of armour were absent for Clone Troopers in the prequels. Each of Clone Trooper was computer animated.
