Bollywood suffered a great loss when Irrfan Khan died at the age of 54. It has caused a vacuum-like situation when the Hindi movie industry doesn’t know how to deal with the loss of the favorite actor who has acted in some of the best movies. Originally from the city of Jaipur, the actor joined the most famous and well-known film institute National School of Drama and did an acting course from there.
Irrfan began his acting career with a small role in Bharat Ek Khoj, a show that was launched on Doordarshan in 1988. His first appearance in Bollywood in a Hindi movie was a role in Salaam Bombay that was released in 1988. Irrfan had a very short role in this movie lasting less than five minutes. The film got a National Film Award.
The actor played the role of Badrinath in the television serial Chandrakanta. His movie Hindi Medium was a hit and gained a lot of fame and appreciation from the audience. Fans also liked his role in Qarib Qarib Singlle. Irrfan had very good acting skills and played short roles in many films. His first appearance in an English movie was a role in the British film The Warrior in 2002. The movie was filmed in India and received the Bafta Award. The actor acted along with Angelina Jolie in the Hollywood movie A Mighty Heart that was released in 2007.
Irrfan played a role in the American movie The Darjeeling Limited in which he co-starred with Owen Wilson playing the lead character. This movie was released in 2008. The actor was in the star cast of the movie Slumdog Millionaire, which achieved a huge success and received an Oscar award. It is a 2008 movie in which Irrfan was seen in the character of an inspector. He played a role in the movies New York, I love You, Inferno, Puzzle, The Amazing Spider-man, and Jurassic World. Life of Pi was one of the best movies of Irrfan Khan in which he was in the role of grown-up Pi.
Bollywood fans will always remember Irrfan Khan for the strong and memorable roles he played in Hindi movies. Hollywood has also felt the sadness of the sudden demise of the actor. It seems as if the characters he played in Hindi and English movies were meant for him only.
