Toofaan Movie Review:
Farhan Akhtar is back again with a new sports-inspired movie after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which came in the year 2013. Toofan is a sports drama movie directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Farhan along with Ritesh Sidhwani, P.S Bharathi, Rajiv Tandon and Rakesh Omprakash Mehra are the producers of the movie.
'Toofan', is based on a real-life story. The story is of Ajju Bhai who is working for Jaffar Bhai and extorts money from people. Meanwhile, he develops a love for boxing and meets Nana Prabhu. He was also motivated by Ananya who is the daughter of Nana. Ajju gets his training from Nana and becomes popular as a boxer. After some time he confessed with Nana about his love and he was thrown away. Both the couple faced a lot of problems and Ajju was banned from boxing for five years.
Farhan Akhtar has played the role of a national level boxer in the movie. The actor has worked hard for the movie and undergone tough and continuous workout schedules. But the performance has not been up to the mark as it was expected from him. The level of performance was unmatched to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The storyline is also related to the movie Rocky.
The other star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Isha Talwar, Mrunal Thakur. This is the second time when Farhan and director Rakeysh are together after their first movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag that was based on the life of a legendary ‘Milkha Singh’. The movie has depicted many relationships in a usual manner such as father and daughter relationship, to loving people and a trainer & trainee. The editing part is also weak and the songs seem to be having no contribution to the movie.
