Introduction

The famous actress of Bollywood, Jaya Bhaduri is the wife of Amitabh Bachchan. He has a son Abhishek, who is also an actor and a daughter Shweta, who remains away from the life of movies. 

Early Life

Amitabh Bachchan was born in Allahabad. His parents are Late Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Harivansh Rai Bachchan gained popularity as a Hindi poet. The real name of Amitabh Bachchan is Inquilab Srivastava. He was given the name after the Indian freedom movement's famous slogan Inquilab Zindabad. It was the famous Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant  Pant who asked and requested Harivansh Rai to give the name Amitabh to the child. 

Amitabh Bachchan studied at the Sherwood College situated in Uttarakhand in Nainital. Later on, he went to Delhi and joined the prestigious Kirori Mal College for studies. Amitabh then went to Kolkata and found a job in Shaw and Wallace, which was a shipping company. Ajitabh Bachchan is the younger brother of Amitabh. Teji Bachchan persuaded Amitabh Bachchan to enter the world of films and choose acting as a career. 

Acting Career

After finishing his education, Amitabh Bachchan shifted to Mumbai to work as an actor in the Indian film industry. Initially, filmmakers were hesitant to sign Amitabh as an actor. The reason was that Amitabh’s skin was dark and there was a trend of fair-skinned heroes at that time. However, the filmmakers soon noticed that Amitabh Bachchan had very strong assets and qualities like a deep powerful voice and a strong personality. Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the Indian PM gave him a recommendation and this gave him the much-needed break for a few movies. This was how Amitabh launched his career in Bollywood. It was in 1971 that Amitabh Bachchan acted in the movie Anand. His co-star in the movie was Rajesh Khanna. Amitabh received the first Filmfare award for this movie. His famous movie Zanjeer made him a big hit in 1973. Jaya Bhaduri was the actress in this movie who later became his life partner. Amitabh Bachchan was given the role of an angry young man in Zanjeer. The movie was based on the theme of crime and it had scenes of violent action. 

The following years saw Amitabh Bachchan giving many hit movies and his role was loved and appreciated by the public a lot. The period between 1988 and 1992 was when Amitabh Bachchan faced a decline in his career. He made a comeback in 1996-1999. His movie Mohabbatein was released in 2000. Shah Rukh Khan was the other actor in the movie. The recent movie of Amitabh Bachchan is 102 Not Out, in which he co-starred with Rishi Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachchan debuted in Bollywood as an actor in his first movie Saat Hindustani. Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was the director of this movie. The other co-stars in the movie were Utpal Dutt and Jalal Agha. His movie Namak Haraam went on to become a huge hit. Amitabh Bachchan got the Best Supporting Actor Award for this movie. Sholay is the biggest hit of Amitabh Bachchan and it is one of the most remembered and greatest films. It was the movie Black for which Amitabh received a National Award For Best Actor. The movie was released in 2005. Amitabh Bachchan has worked in a large number of movies and continues to mesmerize his fans now with his acting skills and powerful personality.
