Introduction

Divyendu Sharma is an Indian actor, mostly working in Hindi Films. He is known for some of his good roles as Liquid in Pyar ka punchnama and Munna Bhaiya in the Web series Mirzapur. He won the screen award for best male debut for the Pyar ka punchnama. 

Early life

Divyendu Sharma was born in Delhi and graduate in political science from Delhi University's Kirori Mal College. He had an interest in acting from his college days only and therefore he joined the theater in Delhi. After having an experience of 3 years of theatre, he shifted to Pune and did a diploma in acting from FTII, Pune. During their struggling age of Divyendu, her sister supported him financially and emotionally. 

Acting career

In the early stage of his acting career, Divyendu Sharma did some advertisements for many brands like Virgin Mobile, Birla Sun Life, and many more. He started his career in Hindi films with small roles. He was first seen in Aaja Nachle which was a comeback film of Actress Madhuri Dixit. His debut Hindi film was Pyar ka punchnama. He beautifully played the role of Liquid in the film. For his outstanding performance, he won the Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Male. The film was a box office hit and the performance of Divyendu was loved by the audience. After this film, he started getting offers of films from various filmmakers. 

The list of films in which Divyendu Sharma has worked is Chashme Baddoor, Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The film Chashme Baddoor was released in the year 2013 in which he played the role of Omi Sharma. The film was a comedy film. The other star cast included Ali Zafar, Taapsee Pannu, Siddharth, and Anupam Kher. The film was successful at the box office. The next film in which he was seen was Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami released in 2014. But the film failed to entertain the audience and was a big flop. Divyendu next signed film is Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). The other actors in the film were Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. The film was one of the highest engrossing films of that time. Batti Gul Meter Chalu was the next film of Divyendu. The film received mixed reviews from the critics, but the audience did not give a positive response to the film and the result was that the film was a flop. He was seen in the short film ‘1800 Life’ also.

The most successful series that gave him recognition was the Amazon Prime web series Mirzapur. It was released in 2018. Thereafter he was known as Munna Bhaiya. Till now,  Divyendu Sharma was doing films that were comedy-centric roles, but in the two series of Mirzapur, a different shade of his character was seen. The audience loved his performance. The character depicted a different shade of the actor. Both parts of Mirzapur was a blockbuster.

Personal life 

In an interview with the press, Divyendu Sharma revealed that he admires Divyendu Sharma and he is a big fan of him. Apart from him, he loves the acting skills of Om Puri and Naseer Saab. Divyendu is also a Yoga Guru and loves to do Yoga every day. Divyendu Sharma married to Akanksha Sharma.
