Introduction
Hrithik Roshan is an Indian renowned actor in the Bollywood industry, born in Mumbai. He was born and brought up in the Roshan Family which was already famous in the Bollywood industry for decades. The actor brought to us a platter of characters through his movies along with his unquestionable dancing moves and marvellous appearance. Hrithik started as a child actor with small roles in movies in the 1980s and finally made his debut appearance in Kaho Nah Pyar Hai in the year 2000 directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, which made him win many awards. Hrithik Roshan is among those actors of Bollywood who are highly paid for their movies. He also appeared in a dance show named “Just Dance” in 2011 as a judge. In 2012 Hrithik Roshan was listed in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 based on his high popularity and income.
Early Life
Hrithik Roshan was born in a Punjabi family in Mumbai. His father Rakesh Roshan was a film director and his uncle was Rajesh Roshan a renowned music composer in the industry. He also had an elder sister named Sunaina. He studied at the Scottish School in Bombay. He claims to be a non-believer of any religion and doesn’t visit temples however a believer in the existence of supreme power in the universe.
As a child Hrithik Roshan was a very lonely kid because his peers often avoided him as he had an extra thumb on his right hand, he also used to stammer while talking from six years old and due to all these circumstances he often pretended to be unwell to skip his oral tests at school and had to attend speech therapy. His first earning was 100 rupees from a short dancing role in a movie named Aasha, at the age of six because of his grandfather Prakash. He always wanted to build his career in movies but in his early 20s, he was detected with scoliosis which was a hindrance to his dancing flexibility and action stunts in the movies. However, he decided to pursue his career in movies and never gave up on his dreams. He struggled to be fit by jogging and exercising to fight his disease and eventually turned out to be a confident person. Hrithik Roshan graduated from Sydenham College with Commerce and attended numerous music and dance festivals. He began as an assistant director to his father in a few movies and also served tea to the crew members and did floor sweeping in his early days. He learned acting from Kishore Namit Kapoor and to practice he enacted and recorded the scene from the movie Koyla originally acted by Shah Rukh Khan, to analyse his acting skills. He got married to Sussanne Khan in Bangalore and has two children. He got divorced in November 2013.
Acting Career
Hrithik Roshan started his film career in a lead role in his father`s movie opposite Ameesha Patel in Kaho Nah Pyar Hai, which turned out to be a super hit with a revenue generation of 620 million. He took special bodybuilding training from Salman Khan and also practised dancing, acting, fencing, singing and riding to improve his performance. He was a sensation overnight and earned many awards in Filmfare for his first movie. In 2003 he stunned everyone with his acting in Koi Mil Gaya where he portrayed a mentally disabled boy. He changed his perception of being a romantic hero from this movie and grew up the ladder in the Bollywood industry to create his place. He acted as the first superhero of Indian cinema for the movie Krrish in 2006 due to which he got his 3rd Best Actor Award in the Filmfare. Hrithik Roshan served a platter of roles through his movies from a romantic hero, a disabled child, a superhero, a Mughal emperor, a paralyzed magician to a blind husband, he justified all the characters and the list doesn’t end till date.

Om Prakash was Hrithik`s maternal grandfather who introduced him to acting at a very young age and his father's supervision as director made him learn a lot. After his first debut in a lead role he acted in many movies and one of the classics was Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in 2011. He has won approximately 164 awards and has been nominated in 256. He has become one of the famous contemporary actors who have proved himself through his dedication for hard work and the attitude of not giving up his dreams.
