Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel have got some relief in the sedition case and other many charges from Bombay High Court. Police asked by the Court do not disturb them till 25th Jan, in the hearing on Monday.
The FIR under the sedition case was filed against the sisters last year under section 124(A) of the Indian penal code “ trying to create hatred and communal tension" form their social media post.
On which Bandra's magistrate court gave permission to run the case and passed order on 17 October last year. On 8th Jan, Bandra police called the sisters to appear for recording the statement on the case. She reached there with heavy security and interrogated from 1 pm to 3 pm.
In the defence, Kangana Ranaut file a petition against the Order passed by the Court and to cancel the FIR and mentioned in the petition that the order was “arbitrary and perverse” which passed without “proper application of mind”.
The division which is hearing the petition made by the sisters has justice S.S Shinde and Manish Pitale. During the hearing, the Public Prosecutor Thakre said that Kangana left the interrogation before its completion on the grounds of professional commitment and she is not cooperating.
On this, justice Manish Pitale said that how much time they need for interrogation. Is two hours not enough for them. But Thakre said that police wants the two or three days for questioning.
On the other hand, Advocate Rizwan merchant wanted some time to file an affidavit in the response to the complaint.
Hearing all this, the court adjourned till 25th Jan and told the police that until the date does not disturb the sisters for any questions and also added that police have more cases besides this until 25th Jan.
Now, it will see what will happen on 25th Jan 2020.
