Famous Filmmaker & Director Joel Schumacher pass away at 80 after a year-long battle with Cancer
Batman Director Joel Schumacher suffering from cancer has left the World on Monday.
The famous director of some of the hit movies St. Elmo's Fire, Falling down, The Lost Boys and the two Batman movies said goodbye to the world after battling with cancer for a long year. Initially, Joel Schumacher started as a Costume designer for films like sleeper, Blume in love, interiors and The Prisoner of Second Avenue, thereafter the designed turned as a Director. He made his debut with 'The Incredible Shrinking Woman' that featured Lily Tomlin in the leading role in the year 1981.
During his time he was also known for introducing the rising talents that were generally seen as Colin Farrell in the Phone the Booth, Rob Lowe in St Elmo's Fire, Matthew McConaughey in A Time To Kill and many others. Apart from movies, he was also known as famous Hollywood storyteller. He also took many high profile music videos in his direction that includes Kiss from a Rose, INXS' 'Devil Inside' and The End Is the Beginning Is the End.
He was also for some time involved in making small thrillers, 8MM and Phone Booth were some of them. Recently he was seen apologizing to every fan for ruining the franchise of Batman and letting them down. He admitted that it was his mistake. For the movies Batman and Robin, he was critically loathed for having hyper-sexualized costumes, lurid sets and its campy tone.
He was known to be an honest man who openly talked about his personal life may it be his drug addiction or about his feeling about Hollywood. Many stars paid homage to the Director mentioning him as a wonderfully creative and heroic.
