Actor Jagdeep well known as 'Soorma Bhopali' dies at the age of 81 on Wednesday due to health issues
Actor Jagdeep “Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri” left the world at 81.
Year 2020 seems that it has no good news for the Bollywood. The industry has lost many gems from Imran Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput this year and now yet other bad news following it. Veteran actor Jagdeep, who was famous with the character Soorma Bhopali from the movie Sholay died at the age of 81 in Mumbai on Wednesday due to health related issues of old age.
He was well known for his comic roles in number of Bollywood movies. He is father of Actor Jaaved Jaaferi and TV producer Naved Jafri. As soon as the news of sad demise of actor was in the air, various Bollywood stars took their social media account to express their deep condolence.
Taking a look on his film career he was seen in some of the popular films like Ab Dilli Door Nahin, Munna, Qurbani, Aar Paar, Shehenshah, Do Bigha Zamin and Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke. He had more than 400 films in his professional career. He explored his comic role Soorma Bhopali by making a film on it under his direction in the year 1988.
His work was also appreciated by the fans in couple of horror movies, such as Purana Mandir and Saamri. His role in comedy film Andaz Apna Apna is always taken note of for his outstanding performance, where he played the role of Salman Khan’s father Bankelal. Gali Gali Chor Hai was his last remarkable film in the year 2012. The star cast included Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Mugdha Godse. The actor’s last rites will be done at Shia Kabrastan in Mumbai. His famous dialogue “Mera naam Soorma Bhopali aise hi nahin hai” will always be remembered by his fans.
