Early Life

Kareena Kapoor was born in Mumbai in the Kapoor family of Bollywood. Actor Raj Kapoor is her grandfather. Prithviraj Kapoor is her great-grandfather and late Rishi Kapoor is her uncle. Kareena Kapoor belongs to a well-known and established Punjabi Hindu family and she has acting talent in her blood. Her parents separated from each other after which she lived with her mother. Karisma Kapoor is her sister who entered Bollywood with her first movie in 1991. Kareena’s parents resolved the issues between them and reconciled in 2007. 

Kareena Kapoor did her schooling in a school in Mumbai. After that, she joined a school in Dehradun. Kareena Kapoor finished her studies at Welham and went to Mithibai College in Mumbai for education in commerce subject. Kareena Kapoor did a short course in computers from the US. She joined a law college in Mumbai but did not finish her studies for a career in acting. Kareena Kapoor joined an acting course in Mumbai. 

Acting Career

Kareena Kapoor gave her first performance in the movie Refugee. The movie was released in 2000. Abhishek Bachchan was her co-star in this movie. She has acted in movies of all genres. Kareena Kapoor has been praised by the public for her role in comedy movies, historical drama, crime drama, and movies of other genres. Critics have praised her role in a crime-based movie that was made on a novel by William Shakespeare. 

Kareena Kapoor expanded her acting career during 2004-2006. She has also played the role of a villain in a thriller movie. The movie did not become successful but Kareena Kapoor was praised for her role and she received positive reviews. She was able to establish herself as a leading actress in Bollywood during 2007-2011.

Kareena Kapoor debuted in acting in 2000 in a war drama movie Refugee that was made on a story with a background of 1971 wars between the two neighboring countries India and Pakistan. The movie could achieve a moderate level of success but Kareena Kapoor received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She has acted in a historical drama movie Asoka that was showcased in the Toronto International Film Festivals in the year 2001. The movie was also shown in Venice. The audience in India gave a lukewarm response to the film but it got great appreciation on the international forum. Asoka was given positive reviews by other nations.  

Her movie Jab We Met was released in 2007 and it was a hit at the box office. The movie earned high revenue and it received appreciation from the critics. Kareena Kapoor was given the most coveted Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in this movie. The actress was also given Screen Award for the movie. Kareena Kapoor played a leading role in the movie Good Newwz in 2019. The movie was based on a theme of confusion between two couples who were both trying for a baby through IVF treatment.
