Early Life

Though she is born in India, she has British citizenship. Alia Bhatt's parents are Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan; She also has an elder sister named Shaheen; She too has two half-siblings; Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt; Alia Bhatt has two paternal uncles from the same background, Emraan Hashmi and Mohit Suri. 

Alia Bhatt completed her schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School. About her childhood life, Alia Bhatt mentions that she was quite an introvert. She also mentions that success and all the life pleasures didn't come easy to her. This is because her mother Soni Razdan kind of raised Alia as a single parent because her father Mahesh Bhatt didn't show much interest in their lives. It was also spotted that Alia didn't share a close relationship with her father while growing up.

Despite all this Alia Bhatt had decided to join the B-Town from an early age. She used to go to Shiamak Davar’s Institute for dance classes.  Her first role can be considered as a child actor at the age of 5; This role was in a movie called Sangharsh (1999).

Alia Bhatt got her first role in a Karan Johar movie. But this was not at all served to her because of being a star kid. She had to audition for the role among 500 other aspiring actresses. Though, she got selected for the role but with a condition to lose almost 16 kgs of weight in mere 3 months. The deal was, whether to lose weight or forget the role. But as determined she was to become an actress, with her hard work, Alia Bhatt made this possible too.

Acting career

Alia Bhatt started her career in the year 2012 as a lead actress in the Karan Johar movie 'Student of the Year. Though this movie received a mixed review from the viewers Alia was determined to do better. In the year 2014, Alia Bhatt shocked everyone with her tremendous acting skills in Imtiaz Ali's movie 'Highway'. This movie was a turning point in the actress's career. After Highway, Alia Bhatt never looked back nor did she disappoints her audience. She always performed better in the next movie than in the previous one. And this kind of effort and dedication has made her what she is today. Among all her amazing performances the other two best were seen in ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016) and ‘Gully Boy' (2019) under Alia Bhatt’s own production house named Eternal Sunshine Productions.
