Introduction
Kriti is a well-known actress in the film industry. Kriti established a good career in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language films. She is a beautiful actress and admired by people. She has received praises including a SIIMA Award and two nominations for the Filmfare award south. She began her career as a modeland done modelling campaigns for Bhima Jewelers, Spar and Fair and Lovely.
Early Life
Kriti’s birthplace is in Delhi. She belongs to a Punjabi family. Her parents are Ashwani Kharbanda and Rajni Kharbanda. She has a younger sister Ishita Kharbanda and Jaiwardhan Kharbanda. She started her schooling at Baldwin Girl’s High School, after completing her high school she attended Bishop Cotton’s Girl’s High School. She graduated from Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College. She holds a diploma degree in jewelry designing.
Filmography
Kriti started her career with a lead role in Telugu film Boni. However, the film received negative reviews but Kriti got a positive response. Critics wrote that Kriti looks fresh and plays her part in a very convincing way but if she works on her expressions she can have bright future. Although her debut film was not so successful, she got a prominent role in Teen Maar. In her next release, it was her debut in Kannada film, Chiru. Her expressions were good and were really good at dancing. The film was a hit and she got recognition in the industry which resulted in more films being offered to her. She took a long time to sign the second film until October 2011. In the same year, she gave a guest appearance in the successful Telugu romantic comedy Ala Modalindi.
The next year she acted in Mr. Nookayya in Telugu and in Prem Adda, which was a remake of Tamil film Subramaniapuram in Kannada. Kriti found her role in the latter movies the most challenging since it was a role of small town girl and she had a no makeup look and had to walk barefoot to give a raw look. She herself along with her mother designed her costumes. In the year 2013, she had four releases, two each in Telugu and Kannada. In both the Telugu films she had to play role of typical town girl.
Her career took an upswing in Kannada film with the romantic comedy Googly. Critics applauded her role of a medical student in the film. The film was a hit emerging as the highest grossing Kannada film in 2013. Kriti got a lot of offers after the hit of Googly including two Bollywood films but she had to refuse them as she was busy with her previous signed films. Kriti’s 2014 releases, Super Ranga and Thirupati Express all got a positive response.
She won the Critic’s Best Actress Award at the 4th South Indian International Movie Awards and also her first Filmfare Nomination for Best Actress. Her Kannada film Minchagi Nee Baralu received a special praise. Her other releases were Sanju Weds Geetha -2. Kriti played a central role in the Telugu film Bruce Lee: The Fighter. Kriti made her debut in Hindi cinema with Raaz Reboot.
She played the lead role in a Kannada film Maasthi Gudi. In 2017, Kriti starred in two films Guest in London and the romantic comedy Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. In 2018, she appeared in karwaan and her other releases were Veerey Ki Wedding and Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir se.
