An Indian biographical period drama film, based on the 17th century, Taanaji is directed by Om Raut and has Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan as the lead castes. Ajay Devgn portraying the character of Taanaji Malusare and Kajol, his wife, Savitri Malusare, are all set to unveil their first look on 21st October 2019. The same has been declared by Ajay Devgn on Instagram.
Historical period movies have always been a crowd puller. This movie will see Ajay Devgn fight with swords, shield and run into fierce battles as a frontline Maratha warrior, who holds no mention in the glorious past of our history. The first look will be unveiled tomorrow, but the first poster is also shared on social media, with caption, “He fought for his people, his soil and his king Chhatrapati Shivaji. The unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, Subedar Taanaji Malusare.”
Synopsis of the movie:
The movie showcases Taanaji, a maharashtrian Marathi military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, who lost his life in the battle of Fort of Singh gad. His wife, Savitri, is also showcased as a lady of great might who always remained as a shadow with his husband and his love for his community and country. Taanaji fought fiercely and bravely with all his might, exhibiting all qualities of an effective leadership and died as a martyr. Unfortunately, he has always remained as an unsung, unseen warrior in history and this movie is basically focused on depicting his heroic deeds for the people to know about his unknown heroism.
