Tweet of international celebrity Rihanna over India’s farmer protest has backfired with MEA statement
Indian celebrities come together and supported the tweet of the Ministry Of External Affairs which said India is against the propaganda.
International pop singer Rihanna on Tuesday tweet over India’s farmer protest-why aren’t we talking about this?! With linked it to a CNN report over the shutdown Internet facility near the protest site border and added a hashtag #farmerprotest - has backfired by the Ministry of External Affairs which commented that before commenting on the protest, everything first needs to learn about the issue.
A very small section of farmers in parts of the country have some reservations about the farm reforms and also emphasised that this agitation comes under India’s democratic ethos and polity, and the government are making efforts with the concerned farmer groups to resolve the impasse.
Government and the responsible farmer groups have met 11 times to discuss the issues but the reasonable solution is still needed to get. He also added that every celebrity should not resort this kind of the issue which is neither accurate nor responsible. He criticised the temptation of the sensationalist hashtag on social media and comments.
These statements of MEA got the support of many Indian celebrities and started many hashtag such as #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.
Actor Akshay Kumar Who has first retweeted the statement and then wrote that the Farmers constitute an extremely important part of India and government has been taking steps to resolve their issues are evident. He also requests everyone to not pay any attention to these kinds of the tweet which generates difference and keep patience for the amicable solution.
Actress Kangana Ranaut wrote and request people to Stand together India so nobody takes advantage of this protest. She also mentioned that these pop stars are just trying to make their 2 cents at our cost.
Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar wrote about India’s sovereignty and also that Indians can decide for themselves because they know India well. And plead to remain united as a nation. Targeting to the comment he wrote that outside forces can be spectators but they have no right to be a participant.
Farmer protest is a major issue for India because it affects the agriculture sector and this sector is very important for India. Until the satisfactory result comes it can take any turn.
