Introduction

Pooja Hegde started her acting career through Tollywood but she successfully made her way to Bollywood as well. The actress appeared in two Hindi movies; both being loved by the audience. Pooja Hegde has displayed her talent in many horizons and many more are yet to come. In Tollywood, she has been showered with immense love from her fans and followers. She is one of the most well-known faces in South India Cinema. When Pooja Hegde stepped into Bollywood, she made her place in the industry and people's minds very easily. So, it will safe to say that Pooja Hegde has fans in Bollywood as well as in Tollywood.

Early Life

Her parents are Manjunath Hegde and Latha Hegde. She is even blessed with an elder brother named Rishabh Hegde, who is professionally an orthopedic surgeon. Though Pooja Hegde was born and brought up in Mumbai, she and her family originally belong to Mangalore, Karnataka. Because of these reasons Pooja Hegde is very frequent in languages like Hindi, English, Marathi, Tulu, and Telugu. 

The actress completed her graduation in commerce stream from M.M.K College. It was also coming to notice that Pooja Hegde also attended and participate in many college-level competitions. They used to vary from fashion shows to dance competitions. It can be safely said that since her school time she was keen on modeling and the fashion world.

Before coming into Bollywood Pooja Hegde also took part in many fashion shows. She also became a runner up in Miss Universe India, 2010. She even won the title of Miss India South Glamorous Hair, in the same year. That was the time when she also took a step into her acting career.

Acting Career

In 2012, the first Tollywood movie that Pooja Hegde debuted with was ‘Mugamoodi’. As this was Pooja's first movie, as a newcomer it was a like chance of not getting accepted immediately in the industry. The film received a lot of criticism, even some critics claimed that she doesn't have much talent/scope. After this Pooja Hegde did her second Telugu movie named 'Oka Laila Kosam'. It was this movie where she received a well-deserved appreciation for her performance. She received a lot of appreciation from the critics all around.

In 2014, Pooja Hegde stepped into Bollywood. She played the lead actress role in a movie called ‘Mohenjo Daro’. She was starring against Hrithik Roshan. This movie was set in an Indus Valley Civilization era. Again, this movie didn't do well at the box office. And was a complete flop. Things were not going in Pooja Hegde's favor. But she was very sincere regarding her work and kept working hard. Though her acting skills were acclaimed her dancing skills were top notch.

In the same movie 'Mohenjo Daro' she performed her dancing sequels well. Only some people have known that Pooja Hegde is a professional/trained Bharatanatyam dancer and this was sincerely justified in the movie.

With her hard work and dedication, Pooja Hegde managed to feature in three movies in the year 2018. She then did another Hindi film 'Housefull 4’ a Sajid Nadiadwala movie that was directed by Farhad Samji. This movie was collected over 280 crores gross amount. 

Another Pooja Hegde movie in the Telugu language came and that earned over 250 crore grosses.

Filmography

Pooja Hegde started her career with the Tollywood movie Mugamoodi. The movie didn't do well. The actress did many more movies but the favors were not in her best interest. She was keen to work hard and continued doing work with dedication. She then stepped into Bollywood through Mohenjo Daro, but that didn't do that good as well. Though Pooja Hegde got an appreciation for her dancing skills, in acting she still needed to improve.
