Tollywood film production to resume in a phased manner: says Telangana CM
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, work in television and film industry across the country had come to a standstill. The Telangana government came to the rescue of the Telugu film industry and granted permission to resume post-production activities from May 22.
Respected Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao met with Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar along with Telugu film personalities like SS Rajamouli, Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, N Shankar, Trivikram Srinivas among others for discussion regarding resuming the film production and theatre's opening.
After which an official press release followed - The CM recommends that he thinks fit for the survival of the film industry, but at the same time, the Coronavirus infection should not spread further. He said that production activities can begin indoors with the least number of crew members while adhering to proper guidelines, and in the next phase in June, film shootings can be commenced.
Further the Telangana CM requested all the concerned persons and members involved should observe the lockdown conditions, preventive measures to be followed against Covid-19 and conduct shootings in strict adherence of self-regulation. Furthermore, the CM has issued instructions for the officials concerned to prepare guidelines for conducting film shootings in the state.
